Patcraft introduces first PVC-free resilient flooring

Cartersville, Ga.— Patcraft has introduced its first PVC-free resilient style, EcoSystem. Featuring two visuals within three styles, the EcoSystem designs offer coordinating plank and sheet products, both of which work well with the collection’s abstract tile style, the company said.

The EcoSystem products’ colorways and organic designs are said to contribute to a calming environment within commercial interiors. The styles’ no-polish finish, combined with high performance on the Medical Stain and Chemical Resistance testing, make it ideal for clinical and healthcare applications, the company said.

“By printing with strings that were dipped in watercolor paints, we created intricate designs, which inspired the abstract visual of the Meaning tile within the collection,” said Kelly Stewart, Patcraft’s hard surface designer. “The artistic result produced visuals with soft and calming patterns that help evoke a sense of comfort and coordinate effortlessly with the visuals of Enrich plank and sheet.”

The two visuals across the three styles can be used together to create dynamic and diverse patterns. Patcraft’s Enrich plank and sheet resilient style offers classic and modern wood visuals. The colors range from warm and traditional to cool and modern. The company’s new Meaning tile resilient style provides an abstract multi-directional pattern that serves the functional purpose of hiding scratches, scuffs and dirt and also disguising seams. The subtle patterns, diverse colorways and warm wood designs of EcoSystem resilient are optimized to create a calming influence within the built environment, the company said.

“The EcoSystem resilient designs offer a timeless, warm style while improving material sustainability credentials that ensure our products support our designer’s intention to create rich, nurturing spaces within the built environment,” said Shannon Cochran, Patcraft vice president, creative and design. “By exploring new and creative solutions, EcoSystem resilient enhances how flooring performs to help optimize performance in clinical and healthcare environments.”

A durable and low-maintenance product with no PVC, no ortho-phthalate plasticizers or solvents, the EcoSystem resilient products are designed to perform in high-demand environments. Its bio-based polyurethane surface are said to allow for dirt and scuff marks to be removed easily. The closed or non-porous surface of these resilient styles offer ease of maintenance, and the products are odor-neutral and virtually emission-free. The collection is Cradle to Cradle Certified Silver, FloorScore certified and carries a LEED v4 contributing HPD.
