Gerflor updates eco-friendly resilient, laminate lines

Chicago— Gerflor has revitalized its Mipolam Symbioz homogeneous resilient sheet flooring line (pictured above) with new colors and added EPD and HPD certifications to its DLW Linoleum Landscape Collection.

Recognizing the importance of color in healthcare design, Gerflor refreshed the color palette of Mipolam Symbioz. Informed by input from designers as well as industry trends, the revitalized color line features 14 new colors, including blues, purples and greens as well as more accent hues and neutrals. Mipolam Symbioz is now offered in a total of 31 contemporary, tone-on-tone, non-directional colors.

First introduced in 2011, Mipolam Symbioz is made with 100% bio-based plasticizer. It features the patented Evercare Surface Treatment — providing resistance to stains and chemicals found in acute care hospitals. It’s features and benefits make it ideally suited for high-traffic healthcare, education and other large spaces. It is FloorScore certified with close to zero VOC emissions and is HPD and EPD certified.

In addition, Environmental and Health Product Declarations (EPDs and HPDs) are now available for the company’s DLW Linoleum Landscape Collection – making it easier than ever to meet the most rigorous of green building requirements in healthcare, education and beyond. The collection is comprised entirely of natural, renewable and biodegradable materials.

“Designers, architects and end-users alike are looking for more than beautiful, high quality, functional flooring,” said Jeff Krejsa, vice president of marketing & strategy, Gerflor USA. “They want to specify products they know they can trust. They’re also pushing to understand more about the product lifecycle while also needing to meet facilities’ growing demands for the best in design, durability, installation, acoustics and comfort. This is why Gerflor is so invested in meeting – and exceeding – industry certification benchmarks for all of our products. We’re doing our part to contribute to a healthier, more sustainable built environment.”

All of the company’s products – including the DLW Linoleum Landscape Collection – carry product-specific EPDs, are REACH compliant and FloorScore certified, meaning they have been independently third-party certified to comply with strict VOC emissions criteria. They contribute to earning LEED v4 credit in the Materials & Resources category as well.
