Kaufman wins ASID Design Excellence Award

Chicago— Joan Kaufman, president of Interior Planning & Design, Inc., has been named the First Place winner of the 2019 American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Design Excellence Award for Innovative Treatments of Walls, Countertops and/or Ceiling Design. Kaufman was selected from a variety of entries in the category.

More than 200 guests attended the event that was held at Marshall’s Landing in the Merchandise Mart, here. “Each year as part of the Society’s mission, we support and recognize design excellence and projects that demonstrate the impact of design,” said incoming ASID Illinois chapter president, Annemarie Delmonico. “Judges from across the country selected the best projects for 2019. A designer who is selected to receive this award exemplifies the highest level of creativity and quality of design. We are proud to honor Joan Kaufman.” 

The American Society of Interior Designers – Illinois Chapter (ASID-IL) is a professional association representing the interests of over 1100 interior designers, students and design industry partner members in Illinois. The Chapter is led by a volunteer board of directors that includes the Chapter’s president, president-elect, five directors and a student representative.

“It is an honor to be recognized by such a highly respected organization,” Kaufman said after receiving the award. “I believe good interior design can have a significant and positive impact on people’s living spaces. It is a joy for me to improve a client’s sense of well-being through my design knowledge and expertise.”
