Nancy Jackson, president of Architectural Systems Inc., concluded her seventh consecutive 2-year term as an IIDA NY (International Interior Design Association) Board Member and Co-Chair of the Hospitality Forum and received the IIDA NY Spirit Award for dedication to the chapter and design industry.

The annual Spirit Award was presented to Jackson for outstanding leadership and commitment to the NY Chapter and performing above and beyond both behind the scenes and front and center in the design community. She was attributed to being visible, knowledgeable and reliable, as well as a role model for student membership, mentors to new board members and an outstanding leader.

Jackson’s tenure on the board included the creation of accredited presentations at the highly acclaimed annual Hospitality Forums  while selecting industry luminaries as panelists and moderating the Hospitality Forum event. This year’s Hospitality Forum topic was Unexpected Collaborations, More is More. It was held on June 9 at the Roche Boboi showroom. During the moderated discussion, the panel of renowned leaders in various trades discussed the authentic environments and connective guest experiences that their unpredicted pairings delivered to the design process. Collaborations included Jeffrey Beers of Jeffrey Beers International with Ron Morisetter of Realisations Inc. on the Renaissance New York Discovery Alcove; Glen Coben of Glen and Co. and Adam Glickman, head of Even Hotels on bringing health and wellness into the Even Hotel brand, and Mathew Goodrich of AvroKo and Dino Sanchez of Brand Bureau blending design concept with consumer experience. The Hospitality Forum brought an outstanding number of guests and revenue for the IIDA New York Chapter.

“It has been an honor to serve as a member of the Board Directors for IIDA NY for seven consecutive terms and as co-chair of the Hospitality Forum, as well as collaborating with the design industry’s greatest,” said Jackson. “I am looking forward to mentoring the hospitality committee while Gabrielle Jackson, vice president of sales and materialista at Architectural Systems will continue the legacy, serving her first term on the Board of Directors of IIDA NY and co-chair of the Hospitality Forum.”
